How do i make light look like a search light beam, and make it directional i.e where i want it.

Secondly my models work in the compile but i can walk through them! why. how do i make em solid even though they look solid their not.

How also do i make my Plants u know the ones u can stand in the middle of in col move in the wind. or just move

Once you have the light entitie in your map hit the N key which will bring up the entitie properties. You will see several options for the light. It says for a directional light you will need a target. Also you can set other properties in there also. If you hit the K key while the light is highlighted you can also change the color of the light.
You have to pick the right Plant texture before you get the swaying plant. Don't remember which one it is though. Do a search for the light entitie, there was some threads that discussed the spotlight effect. Also I am sure the grass texture has been discussed also. Good luck.

if you have a light and info_null in the map select them both by holding shift+leftmousebutton

once they are both selected just hit ctrl+k and it will make a spotlight.

As for the objects, u need to add a tool box around them. There are different tools for different materials, as in: metal tool for metal, sand for sandbag. It took me a while to figure that one out also....

HI NARC thanks for that however i was slightly unsuccessfull. I done as u said and got a Green line pointing to where i wanted the ligh with green arrows pointing down towards where its supposed to be i.e facing a truck. Prob is the light isnt on the truck its just on the spot light!

hi cyrez -- if your truck is a misc_model you can change it to model_static instead and then it should look ok [smokin]

my trucks look fine in the game np my prob i did have was they were walk through lol and the only way to stop em becoming walkthrough was to have a shoot_Metal tool so i could walk on it etc. anyhow

My prob now is the damn spotlight thing. I get a light which is np and i can have a nonull box which is green i select em 2 press ctrl k i think it was and i get a green arrow or line pointing down towards the green box little prob it still doesnt face the way i want it 2. the light is still shining at the top of the tower! and not on floor. It needs to be spot effect as its a nearly night time map

make sure it connected the light to the info_null and not the other way around -- the light should have a target key and the info_null should have a targetname key.

ok i done just that but it still didnt work :)( keeps telling me

WARNING: light at (368 944 480) has missing target
2 point lights
0 spotlights
0 diffuse (area) lights
0 sun/sky lights

my green box info_null has in it
targetname t1
origin 208 944 312
classname info_null

my light has

target t1
light 700
368 944 480

?
make sense to u
and thats with a green line to the green box with arrows pointing from the light to the green box
