Here's another simple question. Let's say you have a pipe that ends at a wall. In the circle that the pipe takes up on the wall, is it better to just leave it textured along with the wall, or clear it out since it won't be seen by the player? Clearing it out will create more brushes. I just want to hear what more advanced mappers do in this situation. It would be alot easier and quicker to just leave the space textured.

as far as i understand your question, (I'm dutch)

leave it.. else you will get more triangles the pc have to draw from the brushes you'll have to make.. it is harder for the pc to draw those triangles then draw that little texture on the top of that pipe that you don't see, atleast so am i'm thinking about that..

Just let the texture go on.. it's alot more work for the engine to draw all those seperate trianges I think.
