I keep getting very mixed answers... so where does it go? In the WINDOWS/SYSTEM or WINDOWS/System32???????????

Here is the definite answer....... All installers that contain the d3dx9_27.dll such as the latest directX from microsoft are installed to the WINDOWS/system32 directory. however it will work in the WINDOWS/system directory or even in the same directory as CoD2Radiant (C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\bin). You do not need it in more than one directory.

id be careful putting it anywhere near your cod2 folder, ive seen pb kicks for this file
