I was very impressed with the video tuts and the like on this site. Then I got the Cod2 video (the first one 13X.00MB and found I had to install Quicktime on my PC to view it...

THAT SUCKED... Just what I need, another intrusive piece of crap software on my pc.

I do not know 1 person that uses Quicktime...

Why oh Why?

I may be wrong but doesn't quicktime allow files to be compressed smaller? Thus making it a smaller download!?

I do not know either, but every time I have to use QT and want to rewind or fastforward it locks up and won't respond.

3 reasons really

1) the final output is cleaner, allowing for viewing of the typed text.
the avi, mpeg, swf and mov formats were all compared and the mov (quicktime) ended up with the cleanest final product

2) the compression ration is cleaner.
this allows for a better quality movie in a small pakage

3) it is lossless, and no codecs are required to view and hear the movie.
the sound and picture quality are far superior to any other codec format (xvid, divx, etc) that are out there, and in one neat package

those reasons, combined with the fact that we are putting the videos out in mobile format (for playing on portable video players - like the new ipods) as well, ....well the choice was easy for us to make

oh, and your problems sound more like hardware issues than software ones

I did notice it was clearer however I am having other issues with my PC. In Short,

I have 1961 files in my recycle bin at 339.6MB that is not visible but my Window Washer Software cannot delete. There are only a few differences between my test pc and my regular pc that could cause this. One is Quicktime.

Have you every tried ro run the Disk Defragmentation program that comes with windows?

How much processing power do you have?
How much RAM do you have?

Yes, I run Defrag once a week or so, Just two days ago.
AMD3000 - 2.1GHz
768 MB Ram
128 MB Vid card

it sounds to me as if you a) have multiple profiles on an ntfs system, and the security of an ntfs drive does not allow for modification of folders or files in a non secure area...in other wordssign on as your other profiles and empty the recycl bins there
or b) have a program like norton undelete running, which protects certain files in your recycle bin whether you want to or not...you can get around this by playing in the norton recycle bin settings and removing things that are being held

try the disk cleenup utility, you already have it

start->all progs->accesories->system tools->disk cleanup
