I did a search before i posted this topic, and none of which people complain of this problem are thier any fixes.

Im not sure if its due to lighting or settings or something but why do the maps which i compile all have rainbow colours on the character?

Yes i have it in DirectX9 and the lighting is usually fine in other peoples maps other than my own. I have sent a test map to a few friends playing COD2 in DX9 and they also recieve the same problems.

I am not going to switch to DX7 as its crap, and maps should be able to work on all configurations therefore im asking for any recommendations as to what the problems can be.

Heres a screenshot of what i mean (small test map to show you).

do a search for 'rainbow'......spotted 10 similiar posts in the cod2 results (including mine, cuz i didn't search either lol)

Thanks, searched for that before and also did this again.

I only manages to find this info which i tried also:

i got Compile: bsp, vis and lighting all ticked

and Extra, verbose, Model shadow. Thats all

i dont think u need both verbose on if Extra is on, but i just left it ticked any way, lol

Also adding models in didnt seem to fix this.

There are on other posts on this forum who seems to have 'fixed' this error. Any other suggestions?

I believe that once you do a new vclog the problem will go away. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it despite asking. Sometimes my map plays fine, i'll add a few brushes and it'll go trippy....i'll add a few more and it goes back to normal.
