Can anyone give me some insight on putting your own textures into the editor. I have tried a couple file types and none seem to work... please help..

Just place a new map in your sof2mpsdk/base/textures map with the name your want. Then place your images/textures in that map & load them in your mapping program.

ive tried that already, the images always fail though. I can see the default with my name on it, but not the texture i want to. i think it has something to do with the filetype. [smokin]

must be jpg or png. png is usually used for transparent textures.

When saving your jpg file, save it without any compression and make sure it is not a progressive image (for web use). The image must be of the proper size... 16x16, 64x64, 128x256... etc.

Most common issue I have seen so far with custom textures is the sizes. Like Foyleman said above, they have to be in a power of 2. So far I verified the following sizes all work:
16,32,64,128,256,512,1024

Your image must be of this size, although you can mix any two of these.. ie.. 64x256 jpg should work just fine.

what he meant was....
as an example, lets say you made that picture of your clan in photoshop. You sized the image to 256 x 256 and saved it as clanpic.jpg without any compression (because it is possible to compress a jpg file for better use on webpages, but that wouldn't work in sof).

you would place that new texture in the folder C:Program FilesSoldier of Fortune II - Double Helixbasetexturesnewtexturefolder where newtexturefolder is the name of your new texture folder for the map you are working on.

If you are using the SDK, you would also place a copy of the texture in C:SoF2MPSDKbasetexturesnewtexturefolder.

That should be it. you should be able to see the texture in both the editor and the game.
