ok im in my map editor watching the one cod2-starting thing that explains how to make simple maps and i look at the window where you should see your textures and all i see it a black box and i see on the video the caulk logo on it and i followed all the videos enstructions but still no luck i dont know if its my falt or my computers falt or just the videos someone plz help im so fustrated

1) Did you install .Net and DirectX9c. Both can be downloaded from microsoft.com 2) Does your video card support DX9? If you're not sure, what kind of video card do you have?

For all those who do not know if they have a dx9 card all you have to do is try to run the game in dx9 mode, if you can't you do not have a dx9 card it's that simple.

i dont know if my card works with dx9 my graphics card is a Gforce 3 Ti200. will that work? because mine is black boxes

i am not sure about the dx9. when i ran the game in dx9, my maps had rainbow colors. i am running my call of duty 2 in dx7. the rainbows went away, i think this guy just needed to reload his textues. often times, i will go to load a surface type and nothing shows up in the textures window, so i press "u" to go back to used textures then load surface types again and the textures show up. There are all kinds of bugs in this system that will cause textures to malfunction. it's been my experience that it's always the simplest answer that solves the problem.
