Hey guys first post for me here, i've just followed the ipod tutorial i dloaded from the net and i've had some experience before with mapping but i thought i'd start again from the basics i've followed the tutorial to the letter...now i seem to have a .gsc error so when i try to load up the test box map thing i get this:

writing to: C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\servercache.dat
Error during initialization:
script runtime error
(see console for details)
(file 'maps/mp/gametypes/_callbacksetup.gsc', line 10)


obv thats in the consolde after the game has crashed back to desktop ne ideas?

Are you using a clean version of cod2? I could not get mine to compile till I cleaned out all the mods in the main folder.

yeah already tried that and setting the server to unpure....odd. thanks though if you think of nething else let me know i won't be able to sleep until its done lol

p.s. i'm not having ne trouble in the actual compiling only when i try to run the map...i've checked through the compile screen that comes up and thats not showing ne errors either....so it must be a gsc thing but i've followed that foyle said to the letter

Did you create a .gsc file for your map?

yeah i've created a .gsc file just as foyle said when that didn't work i tried following the tutorial from this site (text not video) but using both i still get the same error.

i had the same problem it compiled my map but would not run it im using xp so when i named my gsc file it did not change the extention
go to control panel / folder options / clcik the VIEW tab/ untick the
hide extensions for known file types ,
when u go back to your gsc file it might look like mp_mapname.gsc.txt
if so rename it mp_mapname.gsc

ony a thought m8 but worked for me
