For those who are averse to prefabbed buildings I would simply say this:

The entire premise of CoD2 is GAMEPLAY, since it is a GAME. It is designed for a specific purpose. You can have the most beautiful buildings and the map will play like CRAP.....a few come to mind that shall remain unnamed here.......

If, however, you are soooo interested in custom buildings, then go ahead and spent that amount of time, while someone else will have done 3 fun, successful maps in the time that you're still working out the fabric patterns on the tapestry which hangs over the custom Gothic windows, forgetting that Americans didn't invade such places to begin with.

Or, if you're still feeling ambitious and don't want prefab, then come do what I do for a living in real life.....come be an architect and work for me and you can spend countless hours designing the nicest darn soffit or closets in the entire world.....except after that I'd fire yer butt for wasting all that valuable time producing nothing of consequence.

[tongue]

[BTW, I see a couple mesh problems.....1 by the crater in the courtyard....you might wanna fix it. ;) Good start however, keep it up!!]

I do agree with u in some way but i think that there is no point in spending hrs making a building were there is a prefab sitting there thats almost exactly the same as the 1 u r trying to build. But in the other sense i wldnt recommened just syain meh i cant be bothered il just use a prefab and MAKE it fit.

I think its a case of just not overdoing it and becuase your map is not complete yet i think thts y ppl are jumping in screaming blue murder. I think its just a case of not overdoing it, the same as placing modles tbh.

yes the prefabbed buildings is only a starter to get my brain into a idea of what and how i should design the buildings like, they wont be there for good i am working on my own atm, and for those weird looking patch meshes there fixed

I see, so it's more to make a layout.

I just like 'custom'. Anybody can put a map together by just loading 20 prefabs in a map. Creating your map brush by brush is more like my idea of mapping. I think it's to bad Activision or IW or whatever prefabbed so many buildings since it doesn't motivate beginners to really get to know the editor and make comlicated shapes/buildings.

On the otherhand I understand that prefabs are a big time-saver. And they look damn good. [rolleyes]
