Hi guys,

Been ages since I posted on here <feels guilty>.

Ive been tied up with alot of my old CoD modding pals playing with new MMO game engine we have a provisional license for.

Unfortunately we dont have a financier (yet)

But we gonna build a demo showcase of our game world to go pitching for some money in August (date posted 09.03.2006).

details here: http://www.jackpotmedia.net/

Will be needing a few modellers (max preferably) and another artist (concept and visualiser).

The demo will be 5 zones of game world built to the design documents and concept art.

The level design will all have to be done in max hence the call for modellers.

The engine is quite good and the team are good fun, we have managed to keep a relaxed work environment despite deadline.

PLease spam up your application on the forums at:
http://www.jackpotmedia.net/

Would be nice to see examples

Happy modding chaps

Our negotiations with the engine supplier are ongoing but its good news so far....

The provisional license will allow us to build the example game world by the deadline (subject to all team members signing an NDA).

I should point out at this stage that we are talking about a very powerful engine. It powers most of the top end commercial MMO products you have probably played. (seamless zoning)

Why am I advertising here?

Coz theres no paycheck till demo complete and VC assigned to project.

And because I am an ex modder who plied my trade thru CoD mods (so is 1 of the team). We have a real need for talented modellers and level designers and especially people who can do both.

You will be expected to work, and you will be required to sign a non disclosure agreement.

This is an MMOG so please think hard about how much commitment you can bring with ya. (you thought they ate time playing em? ;))

Cheers Darez

I don't consider this advertisement so I ask the moderators not to delete. This is more along the lines of job recruitment which could possibly lead to fulltime employment.

I understand the need for not giving up too much information to the public. However, can you mention if there is a similarity at all to the level design and modeling for your engine when compared to CoD?

Thanks foyleman,

Its hard to determine a similarity at this stage although the experience we gained modding has allowed us ourselves to venture forth in this bold move.

The undisclosed technology does come with certain resources that will be familiar to modders/mappers. eg. an editor for level design alongside a model/animation viewing (morphs multiple anims rather than creating variations ) and a particle editor for the more involved.

Most people who use 3d modelling apps to create and import models into games will be familiar with the techniques employed.
and incidentally good UV mappers will always be welcome.

Thanks again for letting me post here, I hope to keep you all updated on our progress a bit further down the line.
