LANs workin fine now - my mates can even join via the internet - they just searched for my server ip. The xfire! porgram then highlighted the JOIN button and as my mate clicked on it - it started downloadin my .pk3 file.cool.

the other thing - about the 2 pk3 files - i actually had one game goin with two users on my LAN in the same map.

the other pc, had a "last time i compiled it" pk3 file, and my pc had the "i just finished compilin the game with a few changes " and they were both in the same ish map - one had paintings with frames around them on the walls, and the other had just frames - no pictures. i assumed it woz the changes that id made - but then i thought " ang on a mo - i didnt change the pictures ! "

same with the pools and the water thats in the pools - u know what i mean... anyway.....

i forgot to copy my pictures that went into the frames, into my textures file - lol
as for the water - man - just cant get myself or anybody else in the game to drown !! nightmare !! its got that bad that ive built em some steps to get out of the pools lol

and this lift (elevator) - do exactly everythin the guy has written, and right at the end he says summit like ....oh in order for it to work you need to call it from your .gsc file.

blimey mate...i used to program 10 years ago - tell me how to do it ... write it down like the other stuff youve just told me ... blimey.

this map makin is really quite fun - if anyone else reads these posts ( that means you! ) then keep at it coz its worth it when people jump into your map and had a damn good night !!

ooh - up there i mentioned a guys tutorial - i wasnt knockin im at all - its just that some of us just dont cut the mustard if you know what i mean - we aint all up there with ya - explain it - give a demo and show us how to wipe our arses coz we got no time for messin about - we need to complete our maps. And you guys share your knowledge which is great but its no good giving a a hungry bloke a can of beans without givin him a tin opener!
