I'd like to see the ModsOnAir people make video tutorials for CoD like the ones at http://www.3DBUZZ.com

Sure there are video ones here, but the one at 3DBUZZ take a new approach: One guy is the mapping guru explaining while another guy plays a "newbie" asking questions that new mappers might ask - brilliant.

Take a look at the Unreal Editor ones. I've just made the transition to Unreal Ed for a college course I'll be taking and I've already mastered the basics to make a decent map.

Who knows, if the ModsOnAir people make enough, IW might even include them in a future release of a special edition like Epic Games did with those videos at 3DBuzz. It'd be nice to have tutorials IW would deem "official" that would help new mappers.

It's a good idea with the tutorials, but none of live near one another. Some of us are more than just states apart, but countries apart. I wouldn't know how to do it over the internet... to be able to share a desktop, record a live desktop, and do the tutorial. Alone, these tutorials take time.

But, I may look into the idea. It just so happens that earlier this week my company was offered the opportunity to produce Maya tutorials for DVD. Same idea.
Question: would you be willing to purchase a DVD containing more professionally produced tutorials?

BTW: I miss MODSonair too. Still too busy to get that back together. Hopefully another couple months.

DVD tutorials is an ace idea, also the inclusion of the tutorial files to be taken off the the DVD would be supperb, if the company does decide to do those Maya ones make sure they include the tutorial content on the disk aswell.[thumbs_up] I know i wouldnt buy a tutorial disk if all i could do was view it, having a working 'template' to actually be taken off the disk would be a better stand point for selling wouldnt you agree?

I would definatly purchase a DVD with some professional tutorials. Depending on price of course, but I think it's a superb idea.

i would use TeamSpeak or somthing similar with a recording feature. make the video and then send it to everyone who will be participating. mabye have a script written out. and read the script or just talk. if you write script you can write down what you wanted to say during the video and then read it all as your watching the video thats already made. thru your ts just record all you wanted to say.

i probably repeated a lotta things....im half asleep.

i miss modsonair!!! gives me nothing to listen to while mapping.

the dvd's are great. mabye possibly let anyone who is a general member of mapping, perhaps needing to show some past skill with the mapping or modding, and let them make a video and send it to whoever needs them to put them on the DVD's and if there not quite good enough then put them on this site. yet when you have to pay for tutorials that can get a little annoying.
