Basically all cod sp and cod uo sp maps are totally unplayable because of threads being killed. Here are some examples

stalingrad

guy on the boat giving the pepp talk is frozen and dosnt talk, stukas are not deleted when their flight is over, when you reach the gun que there is either no que so you are stuck or there is a que but it wont move

redsquare

when you reach the wall that should explode so you can get through to snipe the officers during the charge the wall never explodes

all maps have errors exactly likes there, the vast majority of events just never occuring

The error is a constant stream off

ERROR: potential infinate loop in script - killing thread @ 38850 (with a different line each time)

I have absolutly no custom files of any kind, no nocd crack and only one basic install of cod, i have tried reinstalling but that didnt work, i have tried downloading a copy of cod as i thought it might be one of my disks but that didnt work, recently i replaced xp home with xp pro and the very first thing i installed was cod from my bought disks, totally clean instal not even patched and still the same error (with nothing else even on the comp yet), i then tried the dl version again n same thing

Often to accompany the killed scripts 30% of ai get base posed

Really I just cant figure out what the f*** is going on and its really starting to get to me

Has to be the worst problem with any game I have ever had and it seems totally unfixable

please someone give me a fresh way to try n fix this

basically it has gotten to the point where i have concluded that god is simply trying to shaft me

Sounds like a reinstall job to me!

Remember to uninstall CoD as well as delete the call of duty folder in 'program files' then reinstall..

[note] dont forget to backup those saves

ok another development

I tried my bought copy on the other comp in the house and it runs fine so . . .

Ifs not a problem with the disk, its not a software issue because on a clean os and clean install i get the same thing, dosnt matter which graphics card drivers i have its still the same and i have tried switching out pretty much ever other driver.

Im pretty much left with either a software issue i simply havent thought of or a hardware issue

Sounds pretty strange even for a hardware error .. What is different about the specs on the computers you tried?

radeon x800gt 256mb ( nvidia 7800gtx 512mb as of next week)

2 gig cosair ram (4 x 512 chips)

2 x 250gb segate sata hard drives

house comp

nvidia geforce 5600

512 ram

Well your specs are fine, so no problem there, im thinking along the lines of a 'foreign file' (mod) that may be there somewhere messing with your settings. Another thing, you say your loading maps through the console, therefore the odds are you may be using cheats, it may be a problem there. SP doesn't like cheats as it seems to mess up the setting a bit. Things like 'ufo' prevents the player hitting a trigger so .. maybe thats it?

lol oh no no no lol. Im pretty experience when it comes to sp mapping/ modding/ scripting. I am running with no cheats. Something has just come to the front of my mind though

I remember when I first installed cod2 I had the very same error, ai base posing and scripts being killed. I fixed that with a reinstall. This is exactly the same as i still get with cod 1. I remember when foyle man played the cod2 demo he mentioned he got lots of base posers and often death animations would finish up in a basepose if you rushed axis ai as you shot at them.

It seems i had the exact same error for cod2 and now get it for cod1 also. I wonder if foyle man has or had the same drivers as me, some of the same hardware possibly. Remember this happens even on a clean install of windows xp home/ pro and a clean install of cod so there is no chance what so ever of their being any mods anywhere that could cause a conflict. Also remember it was both cod1 and 2 that are effected in exactly the same way (only cod2 was fixed with one simpke reinstall)

I think this is a pretty deep problem. Its looking more and more like a driver conflict to me, some kind of serious compatibility issue, I have eliminated most toehr possibilitys

disks fine (works on other comp)
clean install of windows (no help)
clean cod (no help)
effects cod 1 and 2
others (foyleman for one) with exact same problem

thanks for the thought rasta

When it comes down to it i think the moral is dont buy ati

I have serious issues with battlefield 1942/ vietnam (crashes on map loading which i know are ait driver related) mohaa crashes on startup, hidden and dangerous 2 - farcry both run at about 6 x speed (everything moving much faster than it should which i also know is ati driver related) and of course cod1 & 2 have script issues (which would be an odd thing to be g card related but it does seem 2 be)

Changing drivers is just frustrating because a few games will start to run properly whilst another few will stop running correctly

I would put money on the fact that when i put my nvidia card in most of these problems just disapear
Theres no preformance issue but the stability of this card seems awful

I swore off of ATI along time ago for driver issues and only use NVIDIA now.

I did have some strangeness with the COD2 demo where ai base poses were occuring. I couldn't recreate them and I haven't played enough of the full game to see any errors there.
