new to forum .but not sure if i come to the right forum to ask a question i like to ask

i like to know how edit a video using the cod file when you preview them in the cod console what software do you need ?

if you click on video on my hompage just under flash you see a video of our clan i would like to make a video like that but dont know where to start?

as far as i know u have to record the demo by typing "/record" into console "/stoprecord" to stop

then view the demo in cod/uo/2 (cant remember how tho lol)

when viewing an area u want to add to ur movie type into console:
"/cl_avidemo 30"
then to stop
"/cl_avidemo 0"
(i had them set as a bind to make it easier)
then ull have a bunch of screenshots, so u load them into a video editor and have it like a slide show but fast enough so itll look like theyre moving at the right speed...

p.s. im not 100% that cl_avidemo is the right command

To vieuw your demo in cod/uo/2 you need to type this into your console:
/demo [yourdemoname]

you cant edit the videos if you use the /record and /stoprecord

you can edit it in windows movie make to opoen the fraps movies click IMPORT FILES in windows movie maker to find import files it is in FILE

You can also use camtasia.
Just go to this site and download camtasia (trial)
When you've got the program, just choose "entire screen" en go to the recorder en press F9 to start recording and F10 to stop recording.

I've tried using camtasia it always comes out laggy....any suggestions on the options on camtasia?

Did you use the highest resolution?
If you did, don't do it because it use a lot of your ram, and it lags

I prefer FRAPS for in-game recording, can get settings alot better for gaming imo.

Yea, that's true.
Camtasia is more for making video tutorials etc.

as I see many of you do not realize...ModsOnline has a forum for video game movies. The art of creating movies/videos using games is called Machinima. This site has a Machinima Section here. In there is a fairly long thread explaining the proccess and different pros/cons, as well as user-created videos links.

My setup for videos:

Record demo.
Play demo back using Seismovision.
record the playback using Fraps.
Import the .avi files into video editor (I use Avid Xpress Pro, which is a professional program. Windows Movie Maker comes standard on youir computer, so use that if you want)
Edit the stuff.
Export as either .wmv with Windows Media 9 codec or .avi with Divx Codec
