dont count on ATI cards ever working perfectly in gtkRadiant, they arent fully openGL compatible. ATI is aware of the problem. some videocard makers purposely dont add full openGL compatibility so that you will be forced to buy one of their more expensive graphic cards marketed toward CAD/CAM design.

1.5.0 was re-written from scratch, they started it back in 2003 i think it could take another year or 2 to get all the features put back into it, but some of the features most likely wont be returning. the Z bar is permanantly removed, and i think that so is the directional compass for setting angles. because now you can use free rotataion to set the angle, this rotational possibility is great but makes it inconvenient to set an ammo box against a wall at a perfect angle which is what you want to do 99.9% of the time! you have to type it in now. the Z bar was nice but isnt completely needed if you switch to a side view, regardless some mappers cant live without it. on ancient versions of radiant you only had a top view and 3d preview so the Z bar was required. the mappers used to that setup would still need a Z bar. paint select and select complete tall is gone for good, they replaced it with box select. the clipper tool doesnt exit after you have clipped with it anymore, it seems very stupid but is going to stay like that! because technically, thats how a tool should operate! -- yeah version 1.4 is going to be around a long time to come.
