The highly recognised published, Activision, are cutting 150 + employees shortly after EA announced that they were cutting 5% of employees.

The select unfortunate employees or Activision found out last week that they would be leaving their positions. The news comes shortly after EA announced that they would be cutting 5%, but, unlike EA, Activision are not planning to rehire or even transfer the workers to a new place. Here is a quote directly from the EA spokesman:

"We are doing a strategic, targeted reduction to better align our headcount against strategic targets," an Activision spokesman said. Apparently the affected employees were notified last week and the layoffs are still "in process."

Could this affect the games already out or those to come out?

interesting, maybe this is why the cod2 editor is taking a while, the staff are obviously under alot of pressure adn now its even worse with having people 'fired' every which way.

They aren't responsible for the games, they only help publish them.
If it wasnt for publishers the companies would be free to make better higher quality cheaper games.

And people like myself would be able to work there :)

whoa. a twist happened in my noodle. so activision dont actually make the games? its like some huge clan or group of people and they ask activision to publish the game for them? like me writing my story and getting it published. (not motivated enough to pay all that money...or to care....) or am i getting this all wrong? on the halo 2 behind the scenes they seemed to be making the game. so is Bungie a creator and a publisher?

yea we should split into teams and have a huge contest to see which team on the site can make the best game. lol.

and here i was dissing on valve being stupid with all the screwy updates. now activision is dumping people needed to release cool stuff. they should fire all of there customer support and get people who are legal citizens of whatever country there in right now that know the difference between the questions "can i get the config for the hybrid controller set up for finest hour" and "are there cheats for finest hour" i asked for the controller and they responded with. "we dont give out cheats" lmfao!! sry to get off topic a bit.
