I guess your right ={W}=DEVIL, its all the UO fans that hate COD 2. I never played UO so I can't say anything on that. I don't have broadband, so I can't play online, and I don't play with friends that often, so I didn't think it was worth it to get UO. I still love mapping for some reason. Even if I don't get to play my maps with people very much. By the way, you don't want a game to be too realistic, then it wouldn't be any fun. If you got killed by the first bullet that hit you, you would be too scared to run out there and get the job done. That would force you to stay behind cover and wait till the enemy calmed down before attacking. So you would spend most of the game behind a wall listening for the gunfire to stop. What fun would that be? And if your gonna have it realistic, then when you die your game should explode and quit working cuz you don't get respawns in real life. I don't think games should have too much realisim.

Quote: to be honest i dont know who they asked for beta testers but im sure that if they would have asked lets say the avarage COD /CODUO player they would never have released that game in that state.
I feel the same. I'm my ROTC unit's armorer and I clean and maintain M-1 garands and M1903A3's (the springfield) almost every day. The got the models TOTALLY WRONG. And they killed the skins for the weapons. Notice on the g43 in the game, part of the weap has the M-1 garand bolt skin? The M1903A3's cutoff tab (the part that says "ON" on the side) has the wrong texture in the wrong places on it, the bolt action rifle bolts don't get retracted nearly as far as they need to to eject a spent shell, OMG the massive amount of errors drive me crazy!
In COD1 they paid a lot more attention to historical accuracy (well sort of, the tiger 1 tanks weren't in D-day untill about a week after overlord). Plus why did every paratrooper have a pathfinder's reflective circle on their helmet? Why was the 506 fighting at hurtgen? Why did non paratrooper germans get to use the mp44?
If you put the historical inaccuracies aside, COD1 is a better game I think... |

I disagree with you CloudStrife, with the whole part of a game not being fun when its to realistic.
First off, if you want realism, dont go to COD, or MOH, but go to a little game called World War II online; Battleground Europe. This is the most realistic FPS i have ever seen, and its addicting..
This game, you get shot in chest area, up, will kill you, getting shot in the legs or arms will hamper your vision. I find this to be the best, cause i dont only like realistic games that present the true power of a mg42/kar98k (so on) but the intensity and fear to get shot at. This way really brings out the close range fighting into what brothers in arms did, Surpression. This also will get your heart pumping making you fear to move... which is realistic. But than again, in order for this to work, the size of the maps have to go a lot bigger than COD multiplayer maps.
I also understand that having this realism in Singleplayer would suck, and i totally agree with you , for singleplayer. WWIIONLINE is a full blown, all multiplayer game that features more vehicles, infantry, boats, planes that you would never imagine in a game. What a realistic game needs is true Human error, not crappy AI suckyness...
It is possible for a very realistic game to be very fun, because a fun one is already out. But in order for that "realistic" game to be fun, certain aspects of the FPS shooter have to be changed, which for COD, pretty much the whole game.
And ArmorMaster, i totally agree with you with how much the makers missed the target with true history...
But than again, COD is one of those games where your bored out of your mind, so you go and play it for some instant action!
i cant wait for this SDK because, personally, i think it needs to be changed big time.

My trial for WWIIOL expired today. But I agree, fantastic game. It makes me feel like I'm in a war, despite the poor graphics. It just creates that feeling. I remember the first time I both killed and was killed, and it felt differently from other FPSs. After walking about a kilometer with a fellow soldier to the front lines (a harrowing experience, we always were on the lookout for planes and made sure to cover each other crossing the roads), we and our comrades we met up with encountered a British forward base. So we went prone and crawled along the bushes and at one point, we saw a British soldier. I stood up, aimed, fired, and watched him fall. Very different feeling from other WWII FPS games where it's in the norm for it to happen. But it was a gratifying experience.
I then died because of being too used to playing COD / COD2...I ran out looking for more but a guy with an SMG came out of the forward base and shot me. There was a flash of red and then blackness. I actually cringed a bit and looked at the screen with disbelief realizing I'd died.
Still an excellent game if you're in to war simulation. Not a run and gun game like so many other people play, this one requires you to think and to work together with your team to achieve your objectives and stay alive.
On the other hand, for realism and being thrown right in to action, I've been keeping a watchful eye on Red Orchestra: Ostfront |

when i got the callofduty game i paid $60 dollars for it because it was a collectors edition which was a waste because the bonus disk was just how they made the game.
i like when you get hurt and you have to find cover but i hate the grenade arrows because in real life when someone throws a grenade at you dont know its there unless you see it.
when i play online every time i throw a grenade at someone they run
away. i try throwing at them from the behind and they still run away.
now its like killing them with grenades is like impossiple.
but its still a good game im just trying too say it could ove gotten better.
