Hi all.

I did join an CoD2 Server with an AWE mod.
So i did have to download a file so i can join.

But when i am in the game and press "esc" i see
in the options menu under 6. Rcon Tool.



Is this integrated in the file i have downloaded or what,
because when i run a server from my own computer
it shows not in the options menu.
I can't see the 6. Rcon Tool.

you have downloaded a server admins rcon mod. you shouldnt ideally get them, but some admins dont know how to setup server side only mods in cod2, so players end up getting the files as well.

dont worry about it mate, its only for the server where you got the files from.

I want to add to this a small bit. Seems every "blinking" server I join lately, I have to download some sort of mod. This is getting ridiculous.

well, downloading mods doesnt really bother me, but what does is when they go into the 'main' folder and when I get files I dont need - like message_generators and rcon tools.

Also, the mods are getting bigger and bigger. for example the extreme+ mod is now a rediculous 9 meg. WTF!!

Ol_Sniper i have noticed it also.

Can be become a real pain if whe are going to design
for CoD2.
Whe have to clean up the downloaded files again.

For mods like AWE and AWE Extreme no problem.

But lots of other crap hell no.

I never go on any modded cod2 servers cus i dont like mods.
