how would i get a water texture i want to make a river.

Water is a bit tricky but Wyatt Earp did a great job with this video tut:

Water isnt tricky at all... All you have to do is make your water brush out of the water texture in the common texture folder (its somewhere near the bottom of the list) then texture the top face only (shift+ctrl+click to select a single face of a brush) with one of the water textures from the sfx texture folder (or if you want ocean style water use one of the 2 water textures in the ocean texture folder, the 2 red & black looking textures) (the ocean textures dont look like water in the editor but they do ingame)... Your finished water should have the common water texture on the sides & the bottom and an actual water texture on the top face... The common water texture makes the brush behave like water ingame (gives it water splash sounds when you walk in it & makes water spray up when you shoot it) and a texture on top makes it look like water ingame (the common water texture is invisible ingame so texturing the top face of a common water brush with a visible water texture makes it look like water)...
