And the actual making of the game wasn't what took all two years. They spent more time taking their developers to the locations of battle sites, and they also fired every single weapon in the game so that they could get the most accurate weapons sounds possible.

The strike is a stupid idea. It's not going to make Activision or IW move any faster on the patch or SDK or anti cheat. All that's going to do is just annoy them. The only people that would be suffering (because IW sure as hell isn't suffering they're rolling in profits) is the losers who take part in the strike.

It's your loss and your decision. You stop playing, we won't care and neither will IW.

Paper-Cut

p.s. (but don't stop modding *grins at modsonline* [rocking])

I have to agree, the strike is ridiculous. The gamers are only hurting themselves, and its not as though the servers are run by Activision or shutting them down will cause any financial destabilization. I will admit it has taken longer than it should for any sort of acknowledgement of the community, yet I believe it is better to wait it out, rather than going on "strike."

I don't give anything on all the pessimistic opinions stated here and in all the other forums where I'm active.
I just passworded our cod-uo server for 24 hours and named it "On Strike!!! - We Support CCA!!!". This negative publicity will certainly reach many people in the whole world. I'm active on the net for over 15 years by now (arpanet, fidonet, bbs and www) but I've never seen such a big move in the community! Over 3500 gamers, mods and admins of about 200 clans are supporting the strike.

To say it with Ghandi's words:
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you and finally you will win."

Let's move what is moving you!

Does nothing satisfy people anymore?

If you hate the game that much go play something else untill a patch does come out instead of trying to kill the game for people that like it.

I'll laugh if IW rushes out a patch that has even more bugs because everyone wanted one NOW NOW NOW and they didn't have any time to make it a good one.

Big question, passworded and it won't be used, right?

A boycott is a boycott where you don't use the product but now I'm starting to see little quips like" we passworded but only regulars will be playing, etc".

Some boycott eh?

As for boycotting IW, why not all COD series, oh no, we can't do that....why not, you all say the game is bad and that you haven't been able to mod it right, so why not just boycott COD until you get your precious little SDK and all the answers that satisfy EVERYONE (which will never happen) .... strike this [sleeping]

No doubt cod is a great game made by great developers but its a game to get sales by a company that wants sales. For me the fact that they lied about an SDK on many occasions with both CoD and CoD2 in interviews with the developers. Again this is just to get ppl like me who dont give a toss about the game to buy it to see its modding capabilities. Which, for u who dont know, are bollock.

I know that the CCA arn't asking for an SDK but they also feel let down in aspects of the games. If Vivendi weren't bothered about money as much as activision, could you imagine Half Life 2 not only with an SDK but without Valve Anti-cheat!

For you who say get a life, computer games aint everything, i agree. But if a company who know that they have a huge community backing them with a sequel dont listen to them, then that is what i call 'money grabbing bastardry', thats what i call activision.

And that my friend, is why we are striking.

Only Microsoft and Activision would have rushed Infinity Ward to release CoD2; I heard very little from the community about them wanting a sequel until it was announced that there was one, and even then very little interest. All the press I had seen about the game was generally unimpressed the whole time leading up to its release. The only good things I've heard said by anyone in the know is that the graphics are decent and the gameplay is "frentic." But as everybody knows, it was released with a lot of crap-for-brains bullhockey.

To be perfectly honest, I am of the opinion that very little of the game is even noteworthy. But it should not have been released in this state at the very least.
