I just got COD2 for my PC which runs farily well, which shocked me running it with a geforce 4mx(getting a Geforce 6600GT soon). I have a problem with MP though, I can join a game no problem and have a pretty good ping for running on a dial up connection, but after about 10 minutes or less my whole PC shuts down. It is really starting to annoy me. All my other games work fine online. What could be causing this problem?Please help!!!!

could be your pusing your comp to hard and it just overheats. what cpu and cooling systems you useing?

Yes SP runs just fine, no problem what so ever. I am not sure what my cooling system I am using. The only thing I know is that I have a Geforce 4mx video card, 3200+ AMD athlon processor, 512mb DDR SDRAM, 160GB 7200RPM hard drive,and a cd-rom 48x max read. How would I know if it was overheating?

Take the side cover off and make sure all you fans are running. Also check to make sure the fans and the coils over your processor are not clogged with crap. They can get clogged up if you have cats or dogs.

humm if i had to say anything ide have to say you graphics card is overheating... are your settins higher for mp? do you play in servers that are usaly overcrouded?

Hi. Yes those damn cats. I have two cats and it's a lot of work to keep my computer environment clean of those damn cat hairs. LoL. But "Ace008" i did have this problem also but with another game. So i did open my computer and what did i see one big crop of dirt on my processor cooling. I did carefully clean it and problem solved. I have a nice link for you where you can download a program from lavasoft. It is called everest and it shows you all the important parameters of your system including temperatures of your CPU and so on. http://www.lavalys.com/

Thanks guys, but I think I may have got it working already. I deleted some things, defraged, and other things and it seemed to help. I will take a look in PC to make sure there is no hair or anything though. Thanks for helping guys
