Hi guys, im having trouble getting CoD2 in windowed mode. I've added -window to the target line of the shortcut and hit 'ALT + ENTER' but we are still at fullscreen.

Any ideas much appreciated!

Have You Set The Setting for fullscreen to "No" in The Game Settings?

I can't find that option in CoD2, could you point me in it's direction?

To the best of my knowledge the answer is "no" or "not at this time". I'd be happy if someone proved me wrong though....but I don't think you can "do" COD2 in anything but fullscreen.

Dont know if this would work, as i havent tried it. Go into your player profile, and open config_mp file with wordpad (or something), and edit this:

seta r_fullscreen "1"

to this:

seta r_fullscreen "0"

Close and save.

Thanks Tally but I already tried that... don't work!

I have still been trying but as yet have not got it working!

CoD2 seems to have taken some good stuff away from the original, including the 'in-game menu' i really dont like that!

You need to add vid_restart after r_fullscreen to get it to reset.r_fullscreen doesn't work in MP though.That dvar has been disabled in MP.Here is a bind you could use for SP.

//FULL SCREEN TOGGLE SP
bind BACKSPACE "vstr fst"
set fs1 "r_fullscreen 1;vid_restart;set fst vstr fs2"
set fs2 "r_fullscreen 0;vid_restart;set fst vstr fs1"
vstr fs1

"They" disabled window-mode in MP because it might lead to exploits.


And they didn't worry about shipping an AC system... HA. Window mode is very useful for admins who actually like to PLAY while having to hand hold on their server do to cheats, hacks and general trouble makers. Now 50% of the time you Alt+Tab you crash. Nice. Real nice.
