Think about the obvious!?! No kidding buddy, but it doesn't explain why a company would choose to not do a tiny amount of PR. Even EA are trying to keep their players informed about developments in BF2, why not IW and the publisher ACTV?

Judging by some of the above posts the answer would be that they simply don't care. Well if that is the case, and we shall soon find out, then I for one will not purchase either companies products again.

In the end I think the "strike" is good regardless of the result. If the company relents and decides that offering a little support to the mp and moding community is actually in their best interests then great! But if that doesn't happen and it becomes clear that they aren't interested in supporting a portion of their fanbase that made the game popular and kept it fresh for 2 years then oh well. On to BF2.

Sear

P.S. To be clear, the sp portion of COD2 is great and I have nothing but respect for the people who worked on the fundamentals of the game. Good job!

i have to agree that i dont support the strike.
infact i think its stupid.

why whine about a game and post a strike about the probelms if theres *GASP* other games out there.
im my views, quit whining about how crappy a game is and keep play it. That is called being a hipocrite. Eather play the game and quit crying, or play a different game and quit crying.

They probably released the game before it was perfect because they saw how HL2 was delayed and made people sad. they wanted to releace it quickly to make their customers (us) happy.
I for one am happy, because they dont have to do anything if they dont want to, but they are because they care.

Give me a break.

Please in the future inject a little more sophistication into the justifications for your opinions. That might give your arguments more weight as well as potentially creating a comment that has a valid point.

not to be rude or anything, but sear, don't insult another member of the forum for expressing his thoughts. In addition to that, don't overload your post with frivelous, long, smart-sounding words to make yourself look better. Know that writing smartly doesnt mean using big words and phrases. It means communicating your thoughts clearly and effectively.

Take for example:

creating a comment that has a valid point? You mean "might make a more reasonable point", right? Sorry if this is offending you, but I really REALLY do NOT like to see people beating down on others by using big words and phrases.

If you are going to respond, respond with a response, not a retort.

How are his opinions not sophisticated in their justifications? What did you want him to "inject"?

Personall I think the strike is stupid. Let us define a strike.

Strike: a concerted work stoppage, interruption, or slowdown by a body of workers to enforce compliance with demands made on an employer

The CoD2 Strike: A lossely organized lockdown of participating servers by a body of consumers that, somehow, is supposed to make IW/ACTV (not employers, but vendors) comply with the consumer's demands.

Anybody see the difference?

A strike works because the company cannot survive without the strikers. The strikers work for the company and support it every single day.

The CoD2 strike doesn't work because the companies can easily survive without the strikers, especially if they strike for only one day. The strikers have given money to the company but wanted the game to be perfect in every possible way. When IW/ACTV didn't answer the phone, they began to foam at the mouth.

Immaturity. That's what I see this strike as.

This is a serious question, please just answer to the question and nothing else (if you can) (I didn't want to start another thread because this is related to this boycott/strike)

Okay, how many of any of you knew there was a major 2 year lack of communication problem with Infinity Ward? A lack of communication that affected you personally as a gamer?

From all that I'm reading now about the impending strike, this is the real reason there is going to be a strike.

I have never heard of any problems between the COD community and IW and I've been playing since day one.

Of course you can answer to the original post topic, thanks.
