madcrow reporting in...
I have been reading a topic that was posted on another forum and even though I don't want to advertise other sites in the forums it is definately one toic to check out.. Can be found Here.. Now to me, apart from it all being a kick in the guts to all us CoD mapping community, the biggest shock is by Wyatt Earp himself.. Quote: I am letting you know, I have decided to leave the COD community forever in 14 days. Unless, IW comes out and states "we were incorrect, and we are doing things to prove it, we are sorry". This would be a HUGE ripple in the community to have someone how has offered so much to the community to leave! And through this and the interview I am sure a lot of people will be getting on the boat with Wyatt!

Hmmm dont really understand all the crap there going on about and cant be ass'd to read most of it, lol
But all i know is at the moment call of duty 2 is dissapointing, i played about 10 minutes of sp and got bored, mostly because of how long the loading took.
MP is also no where near as good as cod & cod:uo, most of the servers have smoke nades off, theres alot of lag and i miss alot of things from cod:uo .etc sprinting, satchels, rocket launchers, vehicles, big maps, smooth gameplay.
I will wait a while for some new mods and maps to come out to see if that changes the gameplay before i can say i have no more interest in cod

i tend to agree with you redrum...
bititng the proverbial hand that feeds is never a good idea...
first this group wants an early release...then they arent happy when they get it...
allow iw/activision to let the dust settle from the creation and get the feedback processed and see what they can implement
the article that sparked all of this doesn't (to me) sound like GC speaking anyways...
and on the console thing....it is becoming more apparant that developers are working more towards console development than pc...why - because console players have very little room for feedback - and less for modding
this action will not hurt av in any way - but it most likely will hurt the players

Think can be hard to accept for some.... but in the end CoD gets created by only its makers.
So they develop far more then just a map layout. And after a game can be called enough finnished then its up to the CoD community to have fun with it. And that includes making maps for it.
And think about it as CoD2 is still even now in their hands to be finnished.
And.. Quote: Do you guys remember Red Faction. It was a great game for the modding community. It also had one of the best SDK's around at that time.
The point here is that the modding/gaming community gave the creators so much flak for the MP side that when the long awaited Red Faction 2 came out there was no MP.
Dont think this was the why they didnt make a MP for RF2 but the way some did talk to RF creators was to disgusting to read. And if those claim to be speaking for whole of the community it can be a good thing to make clear that that aint true.
