hello i was wandering how to get rid of the default loading picture the picture of 2 soldiers back to back holding guns. i have put a loading picture in my pk3 and it works when loading the map but the default picture is also displayed over top of my picture. how could i get the default picture to not come up and only mine?

i believe you are right. i have looked everywhere to try and find a way to get rid of the default one and havent been able to find anything about it.

come to think of it i have never seen a map that didnt have the default loading pic in there too.

is there a way to find the file that contains that pic, and rename yours to match that? like a loading screen for windows you just change your file name to the loading screen name. Say your is brock.jpg and theirs is SOFload.jpg if you name your SOFload.jpg, would tat work? Or can you even find that file? LMAO...just a thought. I'll look around to see if I can find that file as well.

there are 2 pictures. a TOP pic and a BOTTOM pic. as the map loads the top one slowly fades away. this top pic is the one of soldiers with red behind them, the bottom pic is the one you can custom make. you are meant to make your map introductions just like the ones from the original game so that as it loads you will see only the red part fade away and it thereby creates a screenshot of your map INSIDE the circle with soldiers. every raven map does it like that, if you dont do it like that then you just have to deal with the outcome. because if you changed that top pic it would affect every single load screen, not just for when your map loads. -- dont change the top pic! doing that kind of thing [even as a mistake] messes up the game and people will be forced to delete your pk3 to solve the problem. hope this makes sense.

yes that answeres my question thank you for your replies. so basically there is no way to remove that default picture without dire consequences. oh well it was worth a shot.

actually, u can change or remove the soldiers with red background, find this file that is located in gfx/menus/levelshots unknown_map.png <---- that is the file that has soldier with red background, i have sucssefully gotten rid of it myself, so if anyone has problems with it lemme know.......

ok i c what u mean now, u can change the default loading screen, but everymap u load will will be changed to it unless they remove ur map from there folder in that case they would just rid of it all together, sorry misunderstood, but it can be changed, lol
