Okay, my brother wants me to work on making a bomber mission for him. I just want to know how hard this is to do though? If its very hard I don't want to attempt it just yet since my scripting is not all that great. Also he wants me to models for it so they are WW1 planes.

Hmm thats quite a tall order. Mapping wise its extreamly easy, all you need is a skybox with a scrolling texture

As for the players bomber you would simply need to put the model in and add the turrets

The addition of all the planes would't be to hard but would be extreamly time consuming. I would imagen it would be much the same as putting most vehicles in though the script would be a lil different to a normal plane as the german planes can be shot down and explode etc

Following some anim tuts and with a fair bit of messing you could get the allied pilots manning the bomber.

Im not sure if allied gunners in the b47 would automatically shoot at the german planes but i doubt it. More likly you would have to give them fake targets. There is some script for this over at .map i think, I have used it in quite a few maps n it gives a nice effect

As for objectives, really you would have to stick with shoot down the german planes as the only other objectivesd that the model is set up for have already been used in the uo bomber mission. You could be creative in making objectives and think up some intresting things for the player 2 do but being airbourne rather limits it

The types of planes you could are far more varied than what where used in the uo mission, you could also use the p51 as excort, the german stuka could be diving at the bomber (though not realistic) and the could be a squadron of condors flying the other way off to bomb an allied target which could be quite cool

A class thing to do would be put a trigger around the players b17 that is triggered by axis vehicles. You could then have german fighters aiming to crash into the b17 as they did in reality at the end of ww2. The objective could be to take out the planes from different guns before they managed to hit ur bomber. For a bit of eye candy could have a few ai b17 getting hit by german fighters around yours

Ok, thanks phantom. I think I will wait on making that map though for now, as I don't even now where to find a scroll texture since I don't see it in my commom. Plus all the other things sound real difficult.
