I am trying to make a vc log for my map

when I run around trying to collect all the dots only a small amount of them disappear and these were all in the same little area.

I checked my new vc log file and it was showing only 43k. I had kinda this same problem with my first map Island_Assault except that none of the dots would disappear. That turned out to be that my flare wasn't compiling, but on this map it is.

Why would only a small number of dots disappear instead of all of them as I run thru them?

Hello again fireball1, having trouble with the vc log again m8?

I cant figure out why some dots are being collected and some not, I have recently completed a map for CODuo and while creating the vc log I noticed in two small area's I was unable to clear the dots! They were only small area's tho and so I ignored it.

Now to your prob, all I can suggest is to carry out again a full compile, full flare etc. Check and make sure you have no "major" errors in the compile.

Now when you try creating the vc log (collecting the dots) bring down the console and bind F3 and F4 to increase or decrease the value.

Example
bind F3 "toggle r_vc_showlog 2 4 6 8 12 16"
bind F4 "toggle r_vc_showlog 16 12 8 6 4 2"
I have copied these lines from the tutorial so I'm not sure if the quote marks are required.

So now when you find an area where the dots wont clear try toggling between different values and see if that makes any difference.

there are no major errors when I compile. Only 'couldn't load shaders" for some custom textures.

I tried changing the showlog values but it made no difference. Only around a prefab I put in the map will the dots disappear.

I have deleted the vc log and made a new several vc logs and new bsp files with no difference.

I will recompile and post my compile log .

this is a kinda small map so I could probably get away with out using a vc log but I would like to use one.

I am really sry bout this fb but I am at a loss as to whats wrong.

I agree with you about the need for a vc log and indeed have always included one in all my maps regardless of what size they are.

Maybe if Wyatt catches sight of this post he may know what is wrong,, I suppose you could try pm ing him.

Hope you get it solved m8

One thing I notice in your compile log.. is you're not using the flare workaround as described in the CoDUO compiling tutorials.. maybe that might be it?
