I have no clue what happened but when I went to use Gradiant this AM....... [confused] .........my entire COD folder was empty.

[cry]

I have a second game folder for playing the game but the one I was using for mapping is gone...empty...and I did not delete it.

Last thing I did with the program was edit a prefab, saved that, closed gradiant and shut down computer.

Yeah yeah, ran a virus scan, adaware, hijack this and everything is clean.

Well, so much for my maps...lesson learned. [banghead]

I have 200G HD and when I next install this program (if I do bummed right now...over 6 weeks worth of mapping and prefabbing) I will be making several backup locations....

Not good, but i beat you to the 'oh my god, ive lost everything' level.

The Story:
Surfing the web, computer crashes, no big deal? Well problem is it wouldnt start again! Leading to a re-format of my HD to get it up and running. Therefore i lost everything, including my backups.. Over 2 years (or since radiant came out) of maps and prefabs!!

Though i did have an 'early' copy of a map on a disk so, not all is lost. I would recommend saving you work on a device other than your computer, something like a USB key, disk, external HD ..etc..

I agree with "Rasta" saving you work on a device other than your computer.

Two day's ago i was surfing the internet and just with
one click the damage was already done a virus in
C:\WINDOWS\system32.

To late for backing up now i have to reinstall windows
to get my system to work again.

To play save make backup's on two several disk's because
you never know if one get damaged or unreadable.
