Hi!

Haven't posted on here for a good 7 or so years...

Recently fancied giving CoD/UO another try and got that mapping itch again. As I don't have my original copies with me, I got the games off Steam. Only problem is, the CoDUO_Tools.exe can't locate the installation (probably due to the registry differences since it's on Steam now).

Anyone got around this?

Cheers,

Smithy

Heh, that's what exactly happened to me when I tried installing the CoD2 modtools. I'll try my best to explain the process:

First go to your start menu and search "regedit", run the program. Once there go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node . There should be an Activison folder there, if not make one: right click the Wow6432Node folder and click new --> key. Name the folder Activision. Then inside the Activision folder should be a Call of Duty folder (in your case, Call of Duty United Offensive, or maybe just plain Call of Duty. I don't know). Make the CoD folder like the Activision one --> new --> key --> name "Call of Duty". Once the folders are complete select the Call of Duty folder and right click the list on the right (where it says (default)) and click new --> String Value. Name the string: InstallPath. Once you made the string, double click it and give it the path where you installed your Call of Duty game --> C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty . Then click OK and it should work now.

I hope you understood all of that, if not then ask some questions, though, I don't know much about computers. I hope you'll get it to work!

Thanks a lot, it worked! I thought it would be a registry value like that. The issue was the Call of Duty - United Offensive installpath was correct but the Call of Duty folder needed one, too.

All the Game Settings in the editor use the original non-steam install paths as well so they'll need changing... the nostalgia is already coming back to me...

Much appreciated!
