Hey,

so I'm in process of making one map, but I've noticed some weird spots of light on junctions of floors, walls and ceilings. Is this just the way light reflections are calculated which is my first guess or is it some kind of light bleed? Also, some parts of floor are more lit than others. Is it a lightmap error? I also noticed this stuff on "short" length walls, such as on the window brushes.

For wall junctions I'm using 45 degree connection, and for floor-wall junction it looks like this: (inspected some COD4 prefabs, most of them are made this way)

Thanks in advance!

I think this is common in quake 3 engine games, saw that plenty of times. Try to paint a shadow tool texture ower the dark side of the wall...

From my understanding this happens when lightmaps are calculated on surfaces that are partially obscured by other brushes. But as you said, they did this in the official maps, so I'm not sure.

Have you tried correcting the lightmaps in Radiant? (select all brushes, go to lightmap mode and align for Lmap on the surface inspector)

Have you compiled the light in extra or only in fast mode?
