Hey!

So I've been mapping for COD4 for some time now. I have long time experience in COD mapping and now getting a grip for COD4 one. Now, I noticed two things in my map:

1. In my *.gsc, I specified that I want Spetsnaz vs. SAS, which is just a copy from mp_overgrown.gsc. Nevertheless, it spawns OPFOR vs US MARINES. How do I fix this?

2. I also noticed that during that fade from Black and white to Color, the actual fade isn't present. On other maps, however, there is a slight fade. In my map, it just comes from B&W to Color in split second. How do I fix this?

Both of these may have something to do with *.zone files. But is it true? My zone files are updated. Also, now I noticed that my zone files differ from stock zone files. They are missing stuff like:

ignore,localized_code_post_gfx_mp
ignore,localized_common_mp


Why didn't the missingasset.csv recognize that these are missing as well?

I know these forums are pretty dead, but please guys, if you know this and if it's simple, halp :)

I think you need a vision file for your map and include it in your zone file.

Thank you very much for your answer!

I found out however, that the problem with factions was the fact that _teams.gsc is kinda corrupt, and running the map with custommaps Mod solves the problem. But! When I will prepare the map for distribution, will this mod have to be included as well? Yes, "include,mptypes_woodland" was already added.

And for the Fade, yes this works perfectly!

But, what should I do about factions?

As I can see the proper way to start a custom map is to launch it through custom mod, but I was making maps espiecially for CoD4 SP and I stopped doing this a more than a year ago so I may be wrong.

So, I don't know
