For some reason, my map works perfectly fine if everyone installs it manually. However, if someone connects to the server without having it installed, it goes into a perpetual loop downloading it over and over.

Any ideas why?

what you have in iwd?

Currently, 3 items. Loadscreen, minimap, and a custom texture. However, it does the same looping even when I remove those 3 from the map and IWD.

so its all in folder images - right?

Of course. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be working for those who download it manually.

I believe it is one of two things.

1. Make sure in your custom command line you DO NOT have your mod folders name, beginning in a capitol letter. Even if it does exist as capitol in the raw files.

Example: +set fs_game mods\Extreme4
Fix: +set fs_game mods\extreme4

If this doesn't work, try number 2.


2. Instead of putting the IWD of said looping map in the maps folder, place the IWD in the mod folder instead.

If the name of the map was called "mp_mymap". Normally you would put the folder, mp_mymap, in a folder called "usermaps". Leave all the other map files in the folder called mp_mymap, only remove the iwd and place it in whatever mod folder you are running. So, just pull the IWD out and place it in the mod folder, in this example it would be the "extreme4" folder.


Be sure to double check your server settings as well. This is an old issue that many server admins have had in the past. I'm trying to remember what the fix was and these are two potential fixes that I'm drawing on memory.

Unfortunately, still having the same problem. For kicks/giggles, I copied the IWD to the mod folder. No luck.

As for the custom command line, there is not case issue.
