I am here reaching out to whomever it might be with a couple questions.

1.Will there ever be any updates to this site?

2.If no is it due to lack of staff?

3.If Yes to number 2, Do you need any help,I would be glad to assist.

4.Not really a question but If we can begin to update the site again with relevant information to the gaming world such as new game information or what big things are happening around the gaming world.

I have owned and ran websites from top to bottom for many years and if there would be a interest in bringing back mods online to it glory days I would sure like to be apart of it. Even if no one important reads this at least I will feel as if I have tried.

Yeah, this site is dying out. Pretty much "archived" as this point like Call of Duty FileFront, and File Planet

The next phase is defunct after Archived.

Lets do something now, instead of closing the barn door after the cattle ran away.

Maybe if MODSonline switched to HTML5 that might bring it back to life.

Or open up to download hosting outside of CoD series. Source Based mods? Other Id Tech based game mods?

Comprehensive Mod profiles like on Moddb, would boast traffic like crazy. People want more then one picture and two paragraphs for a mod download page.

Hey I run a COD1 gamserver and have a websight that I would like to get up and running. If you would be interested in doing this for me. Contact me at wdanial@live.com or join our TS3 at ts25.gameservers.com:9116. I run the Saints Of War Headquarters server. I had a website but my developer quit and I dont know anything about it.

PM'd wdanial

Should be interesting to hear foleyman's take on this. I like this site and hope it turns into something better. Perhaps redesigned like a scaled down version of Moddb minus the ads. Or Moddb meets GameBanana or something like that.

CoD series Modding is far from dead, doesn't really compare to Source modding but believe me, we need good sites like this to host our files, hold our discussions, connect with other modders ect.

People are modding CoD2 like crazy, all of a sudden. Xtreme Idiots are modding away and remaining a top CoD series focused Multi-Gaming Community.

Some have retired from the old CoD's and mod other games or retired flat out, but many new people emerge as modders.

Yes and thats what I would like to acheive, I remember this sites glory days, this site helped me learn to map and the forums have even assisted me in learning my modding. If we can get a list together of some things that everyone would like to see / improvements that can be made. Any and all feedback from the community is appreciated as that is what this is.. a community. Also if there are other games being modded lets add some of those. People are doing some amazing things with gta4 and soon to be gta5.

I am mainly interrested in CoD4/WaW mapping, and i see a lot of people wannabe mappers, but they think mapping is easy and they make a LOT of mistakes in their maps because 1. they don´t look for tutorials much. (wow, i´ll just put some brushes together and i have a map
2. they don´t know who to ask (good mappers don´t have nerves or the time to explain everything over and over again)
3. most common mistake are overlaping brushes. (who cares, looks ok... right?!)

I was also making a lot of mistakes in the begining, but i also knew a few good mappers who had the nerves for me, mainly because they only needed to explain it to me once.
Also, i was looking on this website for tutorials, and forums for questions.
Now others are asking me for help.

So, what i think would be good is to find people who have the knowledge, will and maybe some time to help those new mappers/modders with their questions, make the tutorials, solve their problems...etc.
It would be good for anyone to know that this is the place where you can definitely solve any of you problems.

Yes, exactly I myself do not make many maps anymore like I used to back in the UO Zombie days with Kill3rs mod. But here recently I have been getting back into mapping. I myself will work on some modidng tutorials to help show people how to add things to their mods and what not to help give the community more depth and to help alot of other future modders learn rather than just rip code from other mods.

Best tutorials are those with images attached, and text explanation. Easy to remember and while you read them that´s how you learn, it stays in your head. Videos are easy to forget.
I´m visiting this site few times a day, just to see if someone asked a new question, so i can help.
Guys spam every time i log in to xfire, so i´ve made some tutorials for them. When they ask a question, i just send them a written tutorial.
If i get a new question from someone, i help that guy and later on i make a tutorial about it.
That´s why i like this site, there are a lot of questions asked and answered on forums.
