Hi, I have followed the tutorials to create a custom ambient sound, I make the main/soundaliases folder with the csv in it. I put the mp3 in the main/sound/ambient folder.
I change the gsc file to say ambientPlay ("myfile");
I load the map and it says
streamed sound ... sound/ambient/'myfilename' not found

what am i doing wrong?

Yes, I know it is for call of duty, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Could you post exactly what you did. Did you reference the csv in your soundaliases folder from your soundloadspecs csv? Have you made sure the names are exactly the same?

a few tips that might help:

1. use wav files instead of mp3. although mp3 could also work, many times they don't depending on the encoder. wav always works

2. name your file according to its role, so like: amb_mp_mymap_ext.wav. random filename should also work, but... : )

3. you can use this line as your soundaliases\mp_mymap.csv reference:
ambient_mp_mymap,,ambient/amb_mp_mymap_ext.wav,1.2,,,,,,local,streamed,,looping,,all_mp

4. you can use this line as your map\mp\mp_mymaps.gsc reference:
ambientPlay("ambient_mp_mymap");

5. use soundloadspecs. although i believe it's only for united offensive, you can try creating a file with this name and this content: soundloadspecs\mp\mp_mymap.csv

#DEFAULTS
dialog_mp.csv
gmi_dialog_mp.csv
generic_mp_sound.csv
gmi_mp_weap_all_allied.csv
gmi_mp_artillery.csv
mp_mymap.csv

#VEHICLE
gmi_mp_vehicles_ru.csv
gmi_mp_vehicles_ge.csv
gmi_mp_vehicles_us.csv

if none of the above helps, i also only could advice to post everything in detail what you did, how you did. good luck, mate!
