A VPK decompiler (Source engine's version of FastFiles) has been released that's compatible with Titanfall, if you still have the beta installed you can now crack open the VPKs.

I took a look at several scripts (.NUT files, Source engine's Squirrel scripting language) and it seems like Respawn made alterations to the Source script engine to operate a lot like the CoD engine GSC files, you'll feel right at home if you script in the CoD games. The only noticeable difference so far that I've seen is you're required to define the scope of a variable used in functions.

Of course no mod tools yet so you can't actually load modified files, but worth poking around to see how they made the game if interested.

The operative word to keep in mind is 'yet'.
