Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to COD2 mapping but I'm making good progress with my Omaha Beach Dog Green map. Well, I'm stuck at the point where the majority of my map is finished and now I've got to add couple of Higgins boats to assault the beach and men disembarking at the end. Cant find the tutorial, so if anyone has got any advice or a tutorial please help.[wink]

You can download Higgins boat prefabs for COD1, you should be able to import these in to COD2, then its only a matter on scripting the boat, and maybe linking the AI's to the boat, and play an idle xanim, or try and find the one that was ussed in the COD2 beach storming map?

Thanks for the repply,
I've got no problem with adding the boat(I've add him like a script_vehicle), it loads in the map just fine, but I dont know the scripting I've described( the beach assault, disembarking, getting to cover after exiting boats).....I've looked in duhoc script and honestly, it's all Chinese to me :-(

Since I cant make and find anything that would make the higgins move and AI jump of the boat, I was wondering how could I make a brush moving while the AI is inside and then when hitting a trigger the AI will start running....does anyone have a tutorial or something?

You want AI to stand still, and when you hit a trigger you want them to run?

Yeah, you know, like in MOH AA omaha level or in Saving private Rayan, you ride in the boats and by reach the beach the door open and you jump out....Now, I dont know how to do that so I thought maybe I could make a boat from brushes with closed doors and when hitting a trigger, the boat stops, the door drop( as a special brush) and then they jump out....

I made this as my working door. But they open from left to right, I want the door just fall to the ground like in Saving Private Ryan...what do I need to change?

Try rotateroll or rotatepitch. I never could remember which function does what.

rotatepitch did the trick ...tnx. Only that they seem to rotate arround an axis that is not at the bottom of the door but somewhere under them...I'll try to figure it out...[[jumping]

Maybe you already did, but did you check the .gsc files for the point du hoc sp mission? If I recall correctly it had the higgins boats landing.
