Good evening ladies...

I'm Daniel, the Co-Founder of Prospek Studios, and I'm in the process of developing a video game. The easiest way I can think of to test a theory on a health system and gameplay for a Horde/Zombies type game mode is to modify an existing game, like Zombies. I know mods exist (I've played one with my little brother on XBox, pretty good work on the part of the modders, I must say) but I don't want/need the ones that are currently out there. What I need is the ability to modify specific numbers, like weapon costs, Pack-a-Punch and perk costs and even health regen and begining stats. Is there an easy way to do that, or is the code possibly too complicated for a beginner like me?

I'm a designer, and I'm the guy who comes up with the ideas and designs the maps... not the guy who writes the codes. However, I need to prove this theory before I pay for a developer to produce an entire game based on a system that doesn't work.

So, hit me with the details... How is it done?

Thanks in advance!

The good news - you have come to the right place to learn about modding and mapping.
The bad news - without hacking (a process of circumventing protection) your xbox360, mods are only playable on the pc

there is a host of tutorials on scripting - though if you have no background in coding, then the task of completing what you want to do may be daunting

for the most part, it would involve editing gsc's and weapon csv's to modify the weapon and pack a punch and perk costs, health regen, etc

Hey thanks a lot for the info. I'm not apposed to playing any modified version of a game on PC. Games are built via PCs anyway. Do you have any tutorials that might be a good starting point? When I learned Rhinosceros there was a great series of tutorials, all from the same YouTuber. Any such thing for modification of Black Ops Zombies? Again, Thanks!

sure - there are a ton of tutorials that we host here for the entire CoD Series.

the majority of the tutorials transfer from the older game to the newer - however - not necessarily in reverse (from newer to older)

to get started i would suggest having a look here

and welcome to modsonline.com
