Greetings!

Colditz Castle was used as a maximum security prisoner-of-war camp during WWII to imprison allied airmen. The castle has been portrayed in numerous films and TV shows. This map is a recreation for Call of Duty 1 multiplayer.

This map has several tall buildings and courtyards connected by a series of old hallways and tunnels. There's even a way out!

I am unable to compile, for some reason the programs do not work. The compiling process doesn't work for the default mp_dawnville map either. I believe it is because I am running the new windows platform.

I would love to finally play this map, and would greatly appreciate if anyone would take a moment to look at it and compile it. Can anyone please, please send me a .BSP?

Oh darn, that is too bad. Do you think it is "fixable'' or will it probably never work in the end?

I could locate the problem brushes/entities and delete them. I was hoping to test it and then finish the exterior of the castle and small part of the town, but will cut my losses now if the mistakes are too severe.

I took the liberty of deleting the entities and the brushes. But still left without a bsp file.

Except for the warnings regarding textures...

This seems to be the prime suspect:

Unknown surfaceparm: "fog"

But I don't know where it comes from. Maybe it will ring a bell...

Thanks for looking at it. Could you upload the modified MAP file?

I can't seem to find anything referencing the Unknown surfaceparm: "fog" error. A Quake manual goes into detail but isn't helpful for CoD. It might be from the waterfall texture in the sewer under the courtyard. Otherwise.... I'm stumped. [sad]

Your map looks fantastic mate, and I am so happy when I see someone is still making maps for best game ever made, vCOD and COD UO.
Thank you so much for keeping the old COD's community up with your work.

If you need any help with your map, please, post it here. I will gladly help you as I have experience with vCOD and COD UO mapping since it was released.

For your errors, duplicate plane error sometimes appear with rotation of objects or using "E" to move edges. Don't worry for collision map file errors, those you can fix easly with couple of clip brushes. It just says that player can walk trough those models, which isn't a big deal if you clip them manually. Also, stock collmap files can be used.
You may wanna delete key and value for entity 208, "modelscale_vec", ".7" to something else.

I would recommend using CoDUO Maker, which is used for both vCOD and COD UO to compile maps. You can find it on this site.

For the error regarding the fog, forget it. Had some maps in my main that was causing that. After taking them out, recompiled, NO Go. No errors different from the last log I posted, just warnings. It doesn't indicate anything to help. The first part of the bat file has to generate the .bsp for the rest of the compiling to occur. But it never gets created.

No clue now. Still taking a look.

ok, we're progressing. But not done. I've deleted as suggested the entity 208, recompiled and new stuff is in on the board to look at. Portals, ouch.

This is sometimes caused by improper collapsing of vertices on the boundary betw
een terrains.  It may also be caused by a bad brush.  Sometimes using the clippi
ng tool can cause this; hiding all brushes in the area, selecting complete tall
around the point, and pressing 'delete' may fix the problem.
