then you are asked to offer some help if possible :)

I usuall play cod4 multiplayer with my brother in our small offline LAN .. things just go great with no problems ..
now when it comes to mods ..
4 questions need to be answered :

1. I assume there are SP-only mods and MP-only mods, if so then are they installed in the same way ?

2. If I always host the non-dedicated server form the multiplayer menu to play TDM with my brother, then do I install mods on the hosting PC just like the way I use for the client one ? How does it go ?

3. Does each mod have its own maps that can be played only when running it ? If yes, how do I add maps to a specific mod ?

4. What ( good & easy to play in LAN ) mods do u recommend ?

hi i can answer a 3/4 questions.

1. Yes some mods are for SP and some are for MP. You install mods by placing their proper folder inside the 'Mods' folder in your cod4 directory.

2. In order to play the mods on your server the mods have to be put the mod that your going to use inside the 'mods' folder of the SERVER that will be the host. If the people that do not have the mod, when they connect to that server, they will start to dl it into their computer. But these have to be servers that you own/rent and have access to their directory. You can do these server for rank/unrank matches.

3. Some mods are made to work only with specific maps, but the majority of mods are usually made to run with the original maps. Because theres a lot of people that like to use mods but there arent that many people that like to make MP custom maps. The DL of the mod + custom maps can sometimes be too much. Thats why most mods are made to work with original maps and not custom. But some mods are ok to use on custom maps and will not have problems. So you can have a mod that can possibly work with custom maps. Possibly is the keyword.
