Sigh.. everything was working fine... and then the 2 skies error showed up. I've had this before. The funny thing is that only now, I see only ONE sky texture in the texture box! Usually there are two visible sky textures when there is the error. .. . ? Anyways, is there a way that I can find the brush that supposedly has the bad texture without spending 20194 hours looking for it by hand? -.-

thanks ..

Code:

Fastfile 1 of 2, "mp_testroom2": [ver. 5] process...
********************************************************************************

UNRECOVERABLE ERROR:
map has at least two different skies: wc/sky_armada and wc/sky_killhouse
Only one sky per map is supported

Linker will now terminate.

.::EDIT::. oh man.. apparently an origin brush was causing this problem o.o ..

new question: why would an origin brush cause this error if it wasn't even textured with a sky texture?! XD

In the BSP compile log, it would show the origin brush that wasn't connected to an entity. It would give you XYZ coordinates so that you can search them using find brush, in the "misc" drop down. I think it is the MISC drop down. But yes, you can search using that option without looking through your map manually.

If you still have any issues, you can post your BSP compile log and we'll check to make sure. Most likely you did have two sky textures, but fixed it without knowing it. I don't think it was the origin brush causing the issue with the sky texture unless you made a mistake when you had a face selected. It could have been many different instances.

Ah. well, all is fine now, and the map works. For now anyways, until the next radiant change I make gives about 50 errors that take a month to fix [lol]

Since this is an old post, and i just came across it, i want to write one more solution to fix this problem!

I also had this and it didn't give me any coordinates where the brush was, so i had to find it myself!
What i did is quite easy and it works!
Click, Textures - Find / Replace, then just simply put the name of the sky you want to remove in find, and in replace write "caulk".
That way it will replace the sky with caulk texture, and the problem is solved! ;)

Oh wow, that makes sense. I remember trying something with the "FIND TEXTURE" feature and it ended up making a brush invisible, so I was basically playing hide and seek with a piece of the map I couldn't see in Radiant. It took a long time to realize that I had replaced a glass texture with a see-through skybox texture. Stupid sky_armada was disguising itself as a window :(

Thanks though, if I ever go back to mapping for cod, I'll try not to make the same dumb errors that took a year and a half to correct...
