Hey guy,

i am trying to fix a nasty mistake in my map since few days,
but i have not found a solution yet.

As the title says, it's about the weird compiling problems that does not seems to occur often.

"Ran out of triangle refs
Press any key to continue. . . ."

I have no idea how to fix that, so i tried using the LIN file
given when there are leaks.
Using pointfile, i see that red line in radiant, but it does not seems to show anything in particular.

I then opened like 5 different maps with pointfile,
but in all cases, it never shows something in particular, just does a random trail in the air, and sometimes connects to a light/ spawn box.

Then i tried:
-removing all lights
-removing all models
-removing skybox

And that did not work either.

Of course, the LIN file is updated again, but still it's a random trail connecting the last light i had to nothing,
so i deleted it and now, after that compile error, there is no more pointfile available in radiant (line does not appear anymore).

Reaching a high level of frustration, i am wondering
if anybody here has a solution to this really annoying problem

thanks you for these links, but i already saw everything possible on modsonline about that problem, there are 1 or 2 other posts about it, but -none of these- actually give a precise way of fixing the problem!

as i said, if it's about xmodels, lights or skybox, i simply
removed all of these!

So this error is just driving me crazy,
and the lin. file does not spawn a red line in my radiant anymore (i did not say it was useful before)

Open the .map file with Notepad or Notepad++ and search for strange things. If you found 1 remove that line

but it's enormous,

and i have no idea for what kind of
''strange thing'' i should look for

(i tried deleting these fail brushes, it wont fix the situation)

okay, i found the problem after hours of search,

the thing is that,
in some (maybe rare?) cases,

the use of the radiant fonction CAP (creating grey-colored brushes) will crash the compiling process,
and make the light compile impossible.

I do not know why that happens to my compiler,
when the stock maps features many kinds of CAPED brushes
