Hey everyone. I'm trying to find some tricks to help with some large map development. Specifically, I'm interested in:

- overlaying source images (i.e floorplan images" on the 2D grid view to assist in maintaining proportions
- layers, or other methods of grouping brushes that can be made visible/invisible (so that I don't have to see everything in 2d mode, just what I'm working on.)
- any strategies of how to best use prefabs

Any other tips/tricks that people find useful when working on a large map. I've only ever worked on small maps, and some of them seem to get a bit unweildy by the end.

I would appreciate any advice! Thanks!

2. select ur Brushes > LMB in 2D > func_group (iirc shift+alt+LMB to select your entire func_group) (search for it there are some more hints on that in the web
3. there are some tuts on here how to use prefabs (load, edit, rotate etc)

Use portals in your map. Increases fps if used correctly, decreases if used incorrectly.
