Are you talking about my AC130 Serthy?

if so - I just use some simple math..

time = speed/distance

The FX Speed you can get through either trial and error or by opening it in the Effect Editor. The distance you work out through a bullet trace, then you know the time, so just

wait time;

then apply the dmg on the spot it hits :P

the FX is really simple just not alot of people know about the trick. open the _fx.gsc file and ull see OneShotfxthread( fxId, fxPos, waittime, fxPos2 ) pretty straight forward if you read the arguments presented. give the name of the fx, fxs starting position, wait time, ending position. and you can use a default FX like the single_tracer effect is what i found that worked best. there are also other default FXs and you can even make your own if you really want to.

and the for the collision you just use a bulletrace to check where to put damage and check the surface type so you can make your collision realistic.

yh the thing was to synchronise the "tracer" and the explosion - said: the traveltime of the tracer
i only know the UN-made this with a shitload of bullettraces + the speed out of the EffectsED (around 13000 irrc), so maybe i just want to know how Matty's solution was ;) but im still looking forward of your scripts, like to see other workarounds for the same problem and ill catch as many Mods as possible to learn from (from all cod versions the standart scripts, all awe/extreme/demon mods, also dumps from others like iznogod, yours, liltc64 h'n's mod.... etc)

all your scripts will help to develop a modder nwebie just by looking tru it, Thanks for that all you guys!

Why did his post get deleted? I'm looking at the content in my emails and it doesn't look malicious at all..

I dont know if you mods understand code, but sentry guns are basically aim-bots behind the scenes. they use code that aims at players which could technically be edited to act upon the player himself..

You guys are going very overboard here with moderating.
