i hope you know how to script, otherwise i forsee big problems, because in a sp- map with cod(2) mapping you need for every small little thing a script. when you want to add a fire, smoke, sound, moving stuff, vehicels that move and or airplanes that fly, that's all done with scripting (.gsc file). even when you don't want to add any of those effects then you still need a .gsc file. because when you don't have it your soldiers won't walk, they just stand still and fire. should you want to know how this should be done then let me know, and i will explane it to you.

I know all that needs to be done. However, when the time comes, thats when I'll worry about it. I want to get the underground base 100% built before I worry about scripting.

wow Armormaster!! that is realy amazing, great scripting. i'm would love to make scripts like that, mapping is for me no problem at all, like i said before is my biggest issue with cod(2) mapping the scripting. i don't know anything about it!! this makes that i can't make want i want, i have to see what kind of scripts i can get of the internet and have to ajust my map to that, and that's not a nice way to map at all. i understand that you're bussy with your own new map, still, would it maybe be possible that you help me a little bit with scripting. for now i need to make a end to my sp-map, the map is done, it just needs a script to be closed. i gess you have seen my thread about it here;

I'd love to help you with scripting. Maybe we can share what we know and update eachother with xfire or something. I'm not very good at cod2 scripting yet. In cod1 I used to be a god with scripting, but it seems that my old scripts for COD1 don't work for COD2 without complaint, errors, crashes, and modification.

i didn't know that there was a difference between cod and cod2 scripting, that's a shame. specialy when you are very good at cod scripting and have to start over again.

about sharing what we know, there i have to disapoint you. because i realy know nothing about scritping. i can map, that is something that i can say i think. but scripting no, realy nothing that i know about it.

someone helped me to get my script finisht for closing my sp-map down.

Hey, i am really intested in COD2 SP but my radiant is scrwed up, once i get it fixed i will get right to work. I have been doing COD and CODUO SP for a while but to COD2 i am a noob. I was looking at the Tourneje, France or whatever it is and for a first map that looks bloody professional. If you can do that for COD2 that i would LOVE to give SP a try.

Hello,

This is my first post in these forums but I've been reading them and reviewing the materials for quite awhile.

I have been playing all of the CoD series of games since they were first introduced for the PC. I had thought about trying mapping with the original game when it came out but didn't have either sufficient time or inclination then. So now, I am a total noob jumping into this with CoD 2 and have just started my first mapping experiments.

I am more interested in SP games as I like the overall approach of trying to solve the puzzle required to make it all work. Some puzzles are certainly harder than others!

Thanks to all those who have worked so hard to provide tutorials and other inspiration for the rest of us. I've learned a lot from them and no longer fear the beast that is Radiant!

hello everyone,

am feeling so excited about cod 2 editing..i actually did some mapping for half-life mods (not that hardcore mapper but know some stuff) but am afriand that cod 2 mapping might be much more complicated? hope you guys tell me if it is much harder than editing hl 1 or it is just the same basics with better graphics and machine guns?

I am an expert programmer in a multitude of languages. I am experienced in mechanical drawing, but could not draw a flower to save my life. Started to get into editors with various other games, but got serious with Call of Duty 2.

I have found really very little tutorials or help with Radiant Editor. Some tutorials were too confusing and were very short. I found a tutorial on creating your first map with about six to eight steps. The one I wrote, has 42 steps. Just a little difference.

So, I trudge through it and experiement. I am writing a detailed manual.

I am looking to get help with this editor and also to give it out. Struggling along, searching the Internet for instructions and experimenting hoping not to crash and burn.
