I can't download that file as I am not a member. I refuse to join a site I will never use.

Please provide a link to a download site that you don't have to join.

Right, I tested it on both a local and dedicated server and couldn't reproduce the error. I could map_rotate, and map_restart but not fast_restart, because that produced a script runtime error. This was caused by you not having any start spawns, so that's ok. We know how to fix that. But everything else checked out ok - no "overrun string in calll to va()" error.

I was using modwarfare. Is it only promod that does it? Could you send me a copy of yours, as well as the config files you are using.

If you have tried other mods, such as modwarfare then I'm stumped. Are you running a Linux server? Perhaps it's that.

I have Windows 7 (64 bit). And I tried both the maps with ModWarfare. they worked fine. I could restart and change gametypes and everything. I also tried with CoDJumper. And it worked. I could restart and change to my other map, etc. So its only a promod thing. I get the same errors with different promods. I use the yitch2 config (I have a 64MB Video Card).
And if youre saying that you didnt get any errors, then that means that I can release my map because people can host my map, right?

Also, did you like my map??

Now that you've confirmed what I suspected - that it is a Promod thing - I can say now what the error is: it's adding too many vars to the game on launch. The va() function stores strings and is a buffer. If you add too many, it overloads it and you get this error. If you try to use fewer config settings, it will probably also work with Promod. You will just have to keep testing till the hit the sweet spot.

Did I like the map? Having seen many, many maps like this (sniper only maps) in my 10 years of modding Call of Duty, I will only say that it isn't bad for a first attempt. However, you need to add all the right spawnpoints even if you are only going to support TDM. You need a few start spawns for both teams, and a few more generic spawns to use after gracetime has ended (typically 15 seconds).

Also, of course, there is no loadscreen or minimap. So, those need looking at as well.

All in all, it isn't ready for release just yet, but once you've added the necessary spawnpoints, and add a note to your readme file that it isn't compatable with Promod without a lot of work, you can release it to the public.

EDIT - I'm wondering if it will work with Promod once you've fixed the runtime errors cause by the lack of start spawns. Error messages are stored in the va() buffer as well. I'm thinking maybe they tipped the game over and caused the buffer to overrun.

Thank you for your suggestions, but this isnt the final map, obviously. The minimap and the loadscreen were really confusing so I thought I'll do them later.
Will using the default config fix the problem?
AND, 10 Years!!! :OOOO.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I added more TDM Spawn points and a global intermission, and it works noW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
