i just got a new computer that has windows 7 installed my cod2 and now it wont run. just as soon as i click on cod2_mp w.e it attempts to run for couple secs then just shows me this. googled what could be the problem and the only fix i found was unplug my speakers and plug them into the mic slot thingy then start the game up and then plug it back into the normal speaker thingy. that works and all... but getting kinda annoying having to do it every time and reach in the back of my computer all that so yeah anyone know any other fixes?

Just plug your Earphones in the Mic output thingy and let your Speakers plugged in in the Sound output

thank you Morphisnb the first link did nothing for me and second link worked for me. and nwestenberg i was doing that before sorta... i just didnt want to go threw all that trouble everytime just to run 1 game.
