I have problem:

Players coming onto my server complaining about the black screen when connecting to the server.

Example:

I enter the server and is counting down 1 .... 2 ..... 3.
Then loading the map shows up for 1 sec and get a black screen.
And nothing happens, all the while a black screen.

Anyone know what the problem?

This is a classic symptom of being just on the edge of exceeding the allowed IWD number (the IWD checksum error), without tipping it over and getting the the actual checksum error popup. So, basically, you have too many custom IWD files, or the names of the IWD files is too long (the engine counts the string names in the IWD files as well) and you need to reduce them.**

Solution: Combine your IWD files into 3 or 4 IWD - including all custom maps. Keep the names of the IWD files as short as possible.

**With COD2, you can only have up to 4 IWD files, and even then, with just 4 the names of the IWD files can be long enough to cause this "black screen" problem because the engine counts the string names of the IWD files and if it exceeds 1028 total characters allowed - this includes the stock IWD files - or are just on the edge, you will either get the "black screen" problem, or the actual checksum error popup warning (which will crash the server).

Its because of impure files. Let the players open console and write down /killserver and hit enter. Than u can see the mod that causes the conflict that results in a blackscreen ;)

This is not correct. If it were due to an impure client, then they would get a popup error message saying so. It crashes the client out.

Also, players who have no admin control can't kill a server. So, telling people to type /killserver and hit enter is a complete waste of time. Only with an rcon password would such a command work.
