Who knows something about Mediawiki? I just unsuccessfully restored the database and all the spam is still there. - I found an old database backup that I search and confirmed it does not have the word "viagra" in it. - I deleted the database online - I imported the backup database - I confirmed that there is nothing in /cache (cache is off anyway) - I ran the mediawiki update.php file - all the spam is back again. WTF

Ok, I don't know anything about mediawiki in particular (or any wiki for that matter), but I was wondering.. If Mediawiki uses a database with webtemplates, could it be that the template itself has been altered, and not the db? Or did you actually find all the viagra stuff when you checked the current db?

maybe delete posts and users by ip? the spam seems to come from a couple IPs only...

That means going post-by-post and managing several database tables for each post. I don't care for how the wiki database is setup... spanning several databases and making it difficult to manage each posting. I'm hoping someone has information on either: - what am I missing regarding cached data - can I mass delete items without spending minutes on each individual page update.
