Glud & Marstrand (G&M) recently filed for legal action against Microsoft. The Danish company alleges that Microsoft violated a nondisclosure agreement by revealing their metal game case technology to a rival firm. The Halo 2 special-edition packaging was made using this design.

G&M alleges that they approached Microsoft in 2002, when the companies signed NDAs and proceeded to share information. In 2003, Microsoft contacted G&M for a potential deal making metal cases for Halo 2. However Microsoft contacted rival Viva as well, who were not part of the original NDA. G&M alleges that Viva (who ended up manufacturing the Halo 2 special-edition packaging) used their proprietary technology in the cases. G&M is seeking an injunction against the two companies and suing for damages.

Seems that Microsoft are spending alot of time with the lawyers! Maybe there will soon be a Microsoft Lawyer Firm.
