The circled areas show how on the outside of the building there are big long sections on the left that can be seen through as though nothing is there or if its just caulked same for the right side that has a couple smaller sections... there are other sections on other sides doing the same thing. Odd also is that the inside looks normal... just effecting the outside for some reason.

What does it look like in Radiant?
Maybe a little bigger pictures too would help out.
What are the brushes made out of? (shapes)

Well the long side pieces are just that... normal long walls. Each corner I used the "arbitrary sided cylinder = 16 sides" and then hollowed them out. They do overlap in a lot of places but still doesnt explain the fact that the straight wall is screwed up.

I pull it away from the building and its fine, but as soon as I place it back in position it goes fruity. Anyway... Im trying the arbitrary with 8 sides and see if it ends up the same way.

That is very strange. I don't really know. I would however suggest using patches instead of the arbitrary sided cylinder. If you don't know how to use them, the only way to get good is to start trying to use them. There are great tutorials and other mappers who are very good at using shaped patches that can teach you what you need to know, to get the job done the right way. Once you get it, a whole new world opens up.

I started from scratch and so far, so good. I do have one issue and that is, I cannot recall how to get the custom textures to show up when I launch the game from compile tools.

I have searched high and low... cant find a thing.

You need an .IWD to do that. Copy an existing, open it up, gut it, and edit it. It should have an "images" folder in the root of it. If it doesn't exist, create it, and place your custom textures in it. Put the .IWD in whatever Mod folder you are running with your map when you test it.

You are basically mimicking your raw folder structure in that .IWD so all your custom content can be ran outside your Raw folder structure.

It explains everything, never use the hollow button, otherwise the brushes will be corrupt. And brushes which overlap other (corrupt) brushes can be invisible, never overlap brushes.

Just make your tower with patches. It is much easier.

Well I redid the end pieces again the same way but made them octagon and they are working fine. As for working with patches, I have only really used them for the ground... do you happen to know of any good video tuts showing someone using a majority of patches to make buildings and such?

My game is kicking back an error and then disconnecting me. "invalid file /mods/agopenwarfare/mp_ag_town.iwd" has been found in Mod directory. [cry]

Probably because you are saving it and changing its format. I don't know what program you are using, but I use a simple program called Pakscape. Most people use winrar or winzip but one of them causes the format to get messed up. I don't remember which one. Pakscape never breaks and it always works, and it doesn't need to be installed.

I've attached an empty .iwd and the program Pakscape. If you want it, you can give it a try. Read the "About.txt" for program specs.
